Bows can be divided into three
simple categories: factory made, shop made, and
individually handmade.
The factory made bow is for the beginner, as are
fiberglass bows used for rentals.
The shop made bow can be a simple bow for
the beginner or of a finer grade for higher levels of ability.
Bow-making workshops will assign the best makers to the best grades of
bow; often the frog is made by a different hand than the stick.
The handmade bow is completely made by
one person who makes both stick and frog from their primary materials.
